Welcome to another day of the All You Need Is Love Project by Carmen at ShuGar Love.

This week’s topic is: What makes you smile? What puts the biggest grin on your face? Check out last week’s topic.

Woman smile

When I first think about the word ‘smile’ and what really makes me smile, I’m reminded of the the song, ‘You Make Me Smile‘ by Uncle Kracker. Not only do I love the song, but this song is one of my husband and I’s songs. This became ‘our song’ when we started dating. Every time I hear this song on the radio or Pandora, a big smile comes on my face. I can’t help but sing with the lyrics. Listening to this song reminds me how much I love my husband.

You-Make-Me-Smile

You make me smile like the sun,
Fall outta bed
Sing like a bird,
Dizzy in my head
Spin like a record,
Crazy on a Sunday night

You make me dance like a fool,
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold,
Buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Oh, you make me smile

Strawberry Swing‘ by Coldplay also puts a big smile on my face. This is my husband and I’s second song. This song is full of memories for us. While my husband proposed to me, he had ‘Strawberry Swing’ playing in the background. Whenever I hear this song, I’m reminded of that day he asked me to be his wife and I said yes.

People moving all the time
Inside a perfectly straight line
Don’t you wanna curve away?
When it’s such…
It’s such a perfect day
It’s such a perfect day

Now the sky could be blue
I don’t mind
Without you it’s a waste of time

What makes you smile? Do you have songs that are very dear to your heart?
